Andromedia Director of Marketing

Position: Director, Marketing

Anticipated Start Date: June 1, 1996

Position Description:

This person will be responsible for the marketing function. This includes product management, marketing communications, strategic partnership development and strategic planning. This person will be one of the key spokespersons for the company and will be personally responsible for building the key strategic partnerships Andromedia needs to be successful. This person will have significant involvement with the development team in defining product requirements and managing the release of products. In addition, this person will direct the marketing communication function largely through outside agency organizations such as PR firm, writers, graphics specialists and the like. This person will also be responsible for the companyÆs Website.

Specific Responsibilities:

Document the strategic partnering plan with the CEO.
Execute at least 6 key strategic partnerships with application software partners
Work with the Sales director to close at least 3 OEM channel partnerships
Institute a product planning process that will become the underpinning of the Andromedia product cycle
Execute a successful product launch

Skills Required:

Ability to architect strategic partnerships. To visualize the partnership
Ability to develop these relationships to the benefit of the partner and Andromedia
Reasonable level of technical knowledge in the Internet marketplace
Excellent communication skills (presentation, written, etc.) Very resourceful, just get the job done sort of person
